Metal Roofing Systems
Sheet metal roofing has become more popular in recent years. Standing seam metal roofing can cost more to install than a traditional shingle roof but will last longer.
Sometimes a metal roof can also be retrofitted over existing materials, to give your roof a new look.
Standing seam metal roofing doesn’t have exposed screws or rivets, so it is more waterproof than many other kinds of metal roofs.
A standing seam copper roof is commonly used over bay windows.
Sometimes sheet metal is often used at certain vulnerable areas on your roof, protecting the areas around skylights, vent fans, roof valleys , chimneys and the intersection of the roof feck and dormer walls. The copper, aluminum or pre-painted steel that protects these vulnerable areas is called flashing.
